The Atonemont of Jesus Christ

As I was studying about the Atonement it hit me that our Savior loves us ALL so much. We can not even comprehend how much He loves and cares about us.

He suffered and died on the cross all because he loves us. He has nail prints in his hands, feet and wrists all because he loves us. He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and carried his own cross to his crucifiction.

He weeps for us when we are sad and rejoices when we are happy. He will plead for us at the last day to have eternal life as long as we live worthy of it. Anything that we have done wrong if we truly repent and ask for forgiveness, Heavenly Father will forgive us.

He wants us to become like him and the only way to do that is to rely on the Lord and turn to him for help. Serve him and show him how much you love him.  Pray to him and build a relationship with him. He will be your best friend only if you allow him the opportunity to be that friend.

What Heavenly Father Sees in Me

There have been quite a few times in my life that I have wondered why me? What more can I handle and how much longer is this going to last? These questions have made me ponder more deeply and get to know myself a little bit more.

It all started when I was in middle school. I did not feel pretty, I was very shy, I did not like to be the center of attention and I was usually really down. I continued to be that way all through middle school and even high school. I did not see my worth and I did not see what I could become! I always wondered if I had a future and what could lie ahead for me. I doubted my abilities and did not feel like I was capable of doing much.

As I continued to ponder these questions and try to figure them out on my own, I was faced with one of the hardest trials of my life. With the trial I was faced with I had to decide if I was going to turn to the Lord for peace and comfort, or be angry with him and try to do it on my own.

After going to seminary and talking to my teachers I realized that the only person that could help me through what was a nightmare come true in my life was the Lord. For the first time in my life I really started to read my scriptures and pray. I still did not see my worth and I knew I would not for a while, but I was building a relationship with my Heavenly Father.

When I graduated high school I hoped I would be able to forget my trials and move on in life. Find who I was and make a difference in peoples lives.

I went to college and soon figured out that Heavenly Father had more in store for me. There were more trials for me to overcome and more times that I needed to exercise my faith, see who I was going to turn to during times of hardship.

When I was at college that was the first time I had become a little angry with God and was not sure I wanted to turn to him for help. I felt like he had just made me go through  more trials that were the hardest trials to go through! I lost my grandpa (my best friend) the weekend before I was supposed to go through the temple, I had several surgeries and I was not treated the best by people around me. Once again I was very down in my life and had zero self confidence.

After being at my lowest I knew I needed to go on a mission. Once I decided to act on that prompting things did not get easier in life but I knew my life was finally going in the right direction. After many prayers and a lot of faith I am now serving a full time mission, which I never thought I could do. Heavenly Father is showing me things I never saw in myself. I am becoming the person I am meant to be and slowly seeing my worth.

The most important thing I have realized on my mission is I have a Father in Heaven that loves me and knows me. He knows the intent of my heart and is here to help me. He created me and I am beautiful to him. I do not need others to tell me I am beautiful or worth something to see that there is so much worth inside of me.

I am a daughter of God that is sent here to serve Him and become the daughter I am meant to be!

The strength to keep going

Have you ever had the thought can I keep going? Am I good enough? What more can I handle?

I am here to say I have definitely had those thoughts come to my mind especially lately. I have had many times that I have wanted to give up and not keep going. I have been sick of fighting the battle against Satan that gets really tiring.  But because of those thoughts and feelings, as I have been able to turn to the Lord and ask for help to be stronger. I have been able to keep going and not let Satan win the battle. I have been able to go through really hard times to be able to see what I can become.

Doubt and discouragement is one of the worst things to have to wrestle with in this life but it is real. Satan is real but so is the Atonement and our Heavenly Father. We are faced with trials that make us fall to our lowest. It tests our patience, faith and ability to endure!

As we turn to the Lord and ask for help to conquer the enemy that makes us fall to our lowest he will help us. Heavenly Father does not put doubt or discouragement in our minds. He give us the ability to keep our heads held high and keep going. He gives us the hope that we look for in those times of hardship!

Heavenly Father knows and loves each and every one of us. He will help us overcome those thoughts as we turn to him and look for the blessing and miracles he has given us in our lives.

Heavenly Father will always be the light. Remember when those dark days come that that is Satan not Heavenly Father. Look up and remember who has power. Who truly loves us and who is going to be there through those dark days to lift us up.

Satan wants us to be stuck in those dark moments and dwell on them but Heavenly Father does not. Turn to the Lord and remember where you can receive the light that you are looking for.

We are going to be put in situations in our lives that we have to choose what and who we are going to stand up for. It may be your religion, beliefs, standards or so much more.

When we are faced with those situations always look up. Remember who has all power and who can help you through anything. Rely on one of the greatest gifts that Heavenly Father has given us....The Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost will be there to guide you through those hard times. He will help you know what to say and how to be strong. We are put in those situations so that we can learn and grow. People may need us. We have all been given different talents and personalities. We all have certain strengths. We are put in these situations so that Heavenly Father can use our talents or strengths to help others.

Heavenly Father loves us and will never let us fall. When we are put in situations that seem hard remember that the Lord is helping you grow. Forming you into what you are supposed to become!

There are many times when we afraid we are going to drown, but there is only one person that can truly help us through those times and that is the Lord. He is always waiting with open arms to lift us up and help us we just have to give up the opportunity to do so.

There are many things that we go through in life that leaves us not knowing what lies ahead of us. Not being able to see the big picture is one the hardest things that we face.

Rely on the Lord during those hard times. Do not fear because we can not see the big picture in the future, instead embrace the opportunities we have to learn and grow during the times of unknown.

The Lord knows everything so we do not need to. If we knew everything we would not have the opportunity to learn and grow. During those hardest times are the moments that we learn and grow the most. After we go through those hard times of not knowing what lies ahead are usually the moments when we receive the greatest blessings.

I know this is true and I know Heavenly Father is aware of each and everyone of us. He loves us and knows us all personally.  Everything that we go through is building us into the person we are supposed to be.

One of the hardest things we are faced with in life is the negative thoughts Satan put into our minds. The only way that those negative thoughts can affect us though is if we let them in. Satan may put things into our minds and try to get us down, but he does not know if what he tries to make us think actually worked or not.

Our mind is like a river. There is always going to be things (thoughts) floating down it. There are good things and also bad things. We must remember that the bad things floating down the river are not thoughts from our Heavenly Father they are from Satan. We have the opportunity to choose if we want to let the bad things keep floating down the river effect us, or just let them keep floating down the river and not grasp onto them.

Always remember where certain thoughts come from. Our Father in Heaven loves us and always wants us to be happy. Hold onto the good thoughts and not the bad negative ones.

D&C 68: 5-6

Behold, this is the promise of the Lord unto you, O ye my servants or children.
Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come.

The Lord is always standing by us. We should not fear when we know we have the Lord with us.The Lord loves us so much and we should always remember to show him how much we love him. The way we can show God how much we love him is by standing as a witness of him.

When we are standing at a witness of God he will always be with us. He will always be watching over and protecting us.

D&C 84:88

And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before you face. I will be on our right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your heart, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.

Not only do we have the Lord on our side, always watching over and protecting us but we also have angels. We are never alone. Heavenly Father never wanted us to be alone so he will not let that happen.

Always remember how much you are loved. Never fear you always have someone with you.

Everybody has addictions or temptations they are faced with in their lives that they are going to have to overcome. Whether it be from something that we decided to do with our agency, or something that the Lord has put in front of us so that we have the opportunity to learn and grow; To become the person we are sent here on earth to become.

When we decide to take a step in our lives that is going to lead us down the right path and bring us so many blessings, Satan is going to work extremely hard to make us fall. He is going to put thoughts in our minds that we are not capable of overcoming something that we can. Through faith and turning to the Lord he is going to help us be able to overcome whatever barrier we have in front of us.

One thing I have to remember is Satan is a man of doubt, discouragement, and fear. When we decide we want to change our lives and make our lives inline with Gods will Satan is going to be right on our back telling us not to do it. We are not capable or we are not strong enough.

The Lord is a man of miracles. He can make anything happen when we turn to him with faith. He will be there to lift us up and help us accomplish anything that we set our minds to do especially when it is to do something better with our lives. He loves us and will never put thought of discouragement or fear in our minds.

Keep pushing forward and remember who has more power. God has the power we want and need. Satan does not have anything. God loves us and Satan wants to make our lives miserable. Turn to the Lord and he will help you accomplish anything.

We have all been placed on this earth to receive a body, go through trials and become the people that we are supposed to become. The Lord knows everything about us. He has provided a path for us to take. It is all up to us what we decide to do with our agency. Times get hard and the Lord knows that, but the hard times we are faced with are put in front of us to make us stronger.

Never forget the Lord. He is always there for us and will always help us through the hard times. There is a path in life that we are all on. Our decisions will help us through our path in life. Remember who loves you and who matters!

Doubt not Fear not

I will not doubt I will not fear is something that keeps me going throughout my every day challenges. We are all faced with the temptations of the devil and one of the greatest tools he uses is discouragement and fear. If we fear God and not Satan we will go a lot further in life and accomplish so much more.

Always remember who matters most. When we have thoughts of discouragement come to us we need to remember that that is from the devil not our loving Heavenly Father. Heavenly Father motivates us and Satan tears us down. Don't let the one who is bent on our destruction win and tear us down. We are worth so much and Heavenly Father is fighting for us. Turn to the Lord during those times of discouragement and he will reminds us of how important we are.

D&C 6:36-37
When the thoughts come of discouragement remember how much the Savior went through for us. He loves us, each and every one of us.
